MUMBAI: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of the most loved shows on television. 

In conversation with Swati Chitnis, she expressed her experience shooting for the show and her relationship with producer Rajan Shahi. 

Swati shared, “It's a long experience of five years and it has all been fantastic. I had a time of my life playing the character of Suhasini. She is the head of a family who takes all the important decisions and playing that character has been a beautiful journey for me. My character is someone who doesn’t mince her words. She is a principled woman and being of an older generation, she doesn’t believe in sugar-coating everything. She will say whatever that she feels on the face. Some people might feel that the way Suhasini speaks is arrogant but eventually, she turns out to be a positive person.” 

Speaking about her bond with her co-actors, Swati shared, “It's lovely. There is a positive environment on the set of the show. For that matter even Karan Kundrra, who is new to all of us, at least to me, this is the first time I am working with him. He is so down to earth. Mohsin Khan is so down to earth, so friendly. For that matter even Sachin Tyagi. I have a beautiful bond with everybody, everybody right from the spot boy to all my co-artists.” 

Shedding light on her association with the producer of the show Rajan Shahi, Swati mentioned, “I have devoted myself to Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and it has been five years. However, each time I am on the set, it feels like it is my first day. Kab khatam ho gaye paanch saal pata hi nahi chala. It's been a lovely journey, my career has been fantastic because of that and I am very happy. Rajan Shahi is a wonderful producer and the most important thing about him is he is a very transparent kind of person. He also does not mince words. As an actor, I feel very safe working with Rajan Shahi and Director’s Kut Productions.”
