'Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai ' has completed seven years and Tellychakkar Exclusively spoke to Shubhangi Atre about the show completing 7 Years, her nostalgic memories, and more:
The Show has been going strong for seven years now, did you ever imagine when you walked on the set for the first time that this show would go on for so long and that you would get so much love?
In the initial days, the thing that you are worried about is how you would get into the character and accept the nuances, and then when you put on the attire, you start behaving like that character, but for me, the show has had a great vibe from the start and my mother was worried thinking that Angoori has these different antics and ways a different I would be able to do it, she approves now for sure but this show is a game-changer in Indian television because we are so used to loud comedy but this show has changed the whole concept with bringing in situational comedy and I think that is what the audiences have connected with the most.
How similar are you to your character, and what are the traits that you have in common?
I am not completely like Angoori but in bits and pieces sure, for example, very much like Angoori I also can't lie, and even if I do I get caught, and another thing that is similar to Angoori is that she is very happy in her own world, and I think that is something I have in common with her so not a lot of things but I do believe that if the world would start thinking like Angoori, it would be beautiful.
Your character is quite an Iconic one and has a massive fan following, what is one fan encounter that you remember?
There have been a lot but this is not a fan encounter but definitely something so special. I went to an event where the Legend Asha Bhonsale Ji was being facilitated and I had to leave
the event because of some commitments, but I got to know that she was looking for me, saying 'Where is Angoori' and that was like the biggest compliment for me that a Legend like her would know me, She is like a god to me and I wish I had stayed back just so I could meet her.
'Bhabhiji Ghar Pe Hai' completes 7 years and has been one of the top comedy shows in the Television Industry.
