MUMBAI : Hunar Hale is a well-known actress on the small screens.
The pretty diva has been a part of the television industry for several years and has appeared in many hit TV shows.
Hunar has given some mind-blowing performances in shows like Sasural Genda Phool, Mukti Bandhan, Chhal — Sheh Aur Maat, Thapki Pyaar Ki, and Parmavatar Shri Krishna, among others.
She was lauded for playing an amazing role in Sony TV's show Patiala Babes and was last seen in Sony SAB's show Maddam Sir last year.
The actress who was away from the small screens is now back in action.
Hunar has bagged a meaty role in Star Bharat's popular drama series Tera Mera Saath Rahe.
The Patiala Babes actress will be seen playing the role of an antagonist who will bring a huge twist to the story.
Hunar has already started shooting for the show a few days ago.
TellyChakkar got in touch with Hunar who spoke at length about her character and much more.
What were your thoughts before agreeing to this role?
I was keen to know everything about my role, my presence in the show, how well-established it will be and what can I add to this role as an actor. I had many questions regarding my character as I am quite choosy about my work. So, whatever role I take up, I make it a point that it is integral and there has to be a lot. Also, the show should be great. Tera Mera Saath Rahe is very popular on the channel. The show's previous season was quite successful. The reason I took up is that I will be playing the main antagonist.
Did you do any preparations for your character?
You don’t get much time when you are doing a daily soap. An actor carries different looks in each show. Since the characters are different, the dialogue delivery also changes. One doesn't have to do much to prepare for the character.
Preparations are required when I will have to gain or lose weight for a role.
But I would like to mention that I had to prepare myself to get back to work once again. After doing Maddam Sir, I was tested COVID positive. There were several side-effects of that which I experienced. I also developed that I was asthmatic. I had to get myself fit enough to work again as the shooting becomes quite tedious at times. I was a bit unsure at one point in time if I would be able to get back to work the way I used to work before or not. But fortunately, I recovered well. That's why it took a lot of time for me to get back to work.
Did you find any similarities between you and your character?
I usually feel negative characters are quite relatable. There were times when actresses used to only prefer playing positive roles. But I wanted to break that barrier. When we see it in real life, nobody is that good, everyone has some grey shade. Thankfully, the TV content changed quite a lot and it diverted towards more realistic shows. I got such offers and I played various roles.
What I relate to my character is the fact that everybody has some grey shade in them. And everybody has a reason to do something wrong. This is something that I relate to when I see my character. When I read the script, I try to see what makes this character do the wrong thing.
I try to put myself in the place of that character and think about how I would react if I land in such a situation.

Hunar is playing an extended cameo in the show as an antagonist but she feels that her role will be meatier. The actress also revealed that the makers are not going to reveal her character entirely for the initial few episodes. A story will be built up and later, her full identity will be revealed.
