MUMBAI: Abha Parmar is an integral part of Zee TV’s upcoming show Meet. In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Abha shared her experience shooting for the show, among many other personal things including her journey in the television industry.

How was your journey in the industry?
It’s a long 40 years journey, I can’t tell you in detail but it was very nice and those who don’t believe in their destiny should definitely do because I am an example myself because the city and the family that I came from was very different, I did theatre and after that I did films and then I came into television so my journey has been very beautiful I did not have any godmother or godfather, I did it myself and I did all the work that I got with my whole heart.
If not an actor what profession would you be in?
I wouldn’t be an actor, I studied in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, and we were 5 sisters to my mother so everyone was like there are only girls, there would be no name of your family and all and I had anger in me since then, I wanted to become a doctor and when I was supposed to give the exam I realised we need a lot of money to study doctor and at that time in Bhopal opened a theatre academy which opened my doors in acting.
What was your first salary?
My first salary was 1100rs and this was in the 80’s and that time this amount was very big and every year the salary increased and that time my dad was in CID and his salary was 2500 and mine was double and that time I was happy doing my work so I never cared about the money and kept moving forward, in the industry I did 2 films in the start Gurudakshina and Mati Balidan Ki and for the dubbing of that film I came in Mumbai and never went back and I got a lot more movies and serials here.
Is there any such character which you regret doing?
No there is no such character in fact I think a character is that which has 9 shades to it and even when I think that negative roles should not exist but whenever I do on camera I do it with heart so that public will hate it and my motive on doing a negative role will be completed and they will realise not to do such thing.
Is there any character you wanted to do but you did not get to do?
There is still lot to do and if I get any roles I will do it, there is a role of Mother India and I think there are very less roles like that now days because the time has changed and I am satisfied with what I have done till date and even if I have done negative roles people loves me and cares about that, I thank god for that.
