Tej Sapru is currently seen in the show Harphoul Mohini on Colors playing the role of Balwant Choudhary.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about his favorite character and returning back to the big screen with a blockbuster.

With the advent of OTT, and the kind of new talent that is coming up would you say, movies are still that influential?

Movies I think, still have the impact but now with OTT, people got to explore more and more and now, they are stuck to that. With so many options, people are really comfortable with the good content and I personally think and I could be wrong that the high  price of the tickets is something that has become a hindrance. You get to experience all the content from the comfort of your home in every language possible and I don’t know how popular it is in the rural areas, but it has had an effect for sure.

How has your experience been with OTT as an artist, as an actor?

It has been amazing as an artist. I have two shows out, one on hotstar titled Dil Bekarar, which Habib Faisal directed. It was so much fun because we did a reading and you shoot it like a movie but it is episodic. I have never done a reading in my life and when we sussed to shoot for films, we got scripts in the morning so it was a different experience. Working on sets is so easy now. I did Undekhi season 2, which was a short but very powerful role and essential to the next season if there is one. So, it has been quite an experience.

You have played multitudes of roles and in a lot of shades, is there something that you feel like you have still not done, is there a dream role?

I have not done a total comedy and I am waiting for it. I want to do a mad cap comedy and in my real life, I am someone that people associate with comedy. I am making jokes all the times and in my mind, I have certain ideas of how I would do a comedic role. I am waiting for it.

Tej Sapru is currently seen in Harphoul Mohini as Balwant Choudhary on Colors TV also starring Zebby Singh and Shagun Sharma.
