EXCLUSIVE! It is a very prideful feeling to wear a uniform: Hiten Tejwani on his upcoming music video Mera Pyara Hindustan

MUMBAI: Actor Hiten Tejwani in this exclusive interview with TellyChakkar talks about his upcoming music video Mera Pyara Hindustan. The actor excitedly talks about what made him say yes to the project, wearing an army uniform, and a lot more.

Tell us about your new music video

As the name Mera Pyara Hindustan suggests, we have seen a soldier only at the war front or at the border. He is a normal human being just like us only. He has his family; he has other duties as well. Besides this, his biggest duties are to protect our motherland and serve the country. The song is about the journey of a soldier. How he prioritized his duty over family. He has to go to the border and fight for the country. There are lots of patriotic songs, but this is the song that will impress you and you will hear it repeatedly.

What made you say yes to the song?

I have played so many characters throughout my career. But I never got a chance to play the character of an army officer. So, this was the best opportunity for me. I was always fascinated by the idea of telling the whole story, which has the beginning, the middle, and the end in just three and a half minutes. It is very difficult and challenging to show the whole story in such a short time. It is very important to have a beautiful visual also. Combining all these things it is a very good package, and I believe all of us surely love the song.

What was the feeling like when you wore the army uniform?

Usually for the shoot, we outsource the costumes for the actors. But in this song the production house managed to bring in the real army uniforms. I was wishing to keep the uniform but we are not allowed to do so. It is a very proud feeling to wear a uniform. You feel proud, and now you want to do something for the country. It is a wonderful feeling.
