MUMBAI: Popular TV actress Pankhuri Awasthy who was away from the small screens for quite some time is now back in action with her new show.

The actress has bagged the lead role in Star Bharat's newly launched show Gud Se Meetha Ishq.

Pankhuri is seen playing the role of Kaju in the show.

Gud Se Meetha Ishq also stars Ishaan Dhawan and Meera Deosthale in the lead roles.

As the show as hit the small screens a few days ago, TellyChakkar had a chance to exclusively interact with Pankhuri who spoke about the show and much more.

How has been your experience shooting with Meera and Ishaan?

My experience was great with Meera. We started shooting for the show in Mussoorie. We had a lot of time off-screen as well to spend with each other. That's how we actually got to know each other and our friendship really began. We hit it off instantly. Both of us are on the same page about a lot of things on how we think.

Ishaan is also a great guy. We all met for the first time in Mussoorie. I had shot a promo with him in Panchgani. We are great friends.

What was your husband Gautam's reaction seeing you for the first time in the promo?

I think he loved it. He knew what kind of role I was going to portray in the show. He really liked it. In fact, everybody in my family really liked it and said that I was looking nice. They felt I was looking like a 'Mountain Girl'. They liked the whole feel of my character.

How similar is your character to you in real life?

I do relate to my character at some level. Kaju has dreams of her own. She is full of bubbliness. So, I can relate to those things. The idea of going behind your dreams and trying to achieve them and fighting against society is also quite relatable to me.

Gud Se Meetha Ishq started airing on 18th April on Star Bharat at 7.30 PM.
