MUMBAI : Imlie is one of the top most rated shows and the audience loves the track. We saw a huge turn in the plot post the leap. The current storyline has a lot of twists and turns coming up.

Rajshri Rani plays the role of Arpita, Imlie’s aunt.

Rajshri Rani Shukla Jain is best known for her titular portrayal of Suhani in the Star Plus show Suhani Si Ek Ladki. Rani made her acting debut in 2012 by starring in the Drashti Dhami starrer show Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.

In April 2018, she joined Star Plus's Ikyawann as Sarthi Mishra. After a brief role in Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka, she was also seen as Rupa Raunak Rajput in Namak Issk Ka on Colors TV.

Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actress and got to know some interesting insights.

You have been a part of the show since before the leap. What similarities or differences do you see post the leap?
“Honestly, there is nothing similar post the leap as compared to what it was before. Earlier, the character of Imlie was totally different than what it is currently. We have kept the connection of the previous Imlie with the current one intact and we keep mentioning Imlie and Aryan in the current track as well. The previous version was also great, the TRPs were so good and we received so much love. The current Imlie is also amazing in its own way and has managed to maintain good TRP.”

You have been a part of the show since before the leap. What similarities or differences do you see post the leap?

“Honestly, there is nothing similar post the leap as compared to what it was before the leap. The character of Imlie earlier was totally different than what it is currently. You were quite close to Sumbul Touqeer and she is now a part of Bigg Boss 16. People believe what they saw in Ravivaar with Star Parivaar, and what they are seeing in Bigg Boss is very different. They feel she is quite lost. What do you have to say about that?

“I started watching this season because of Sumbul but she wasn’t visible that much. We also did not expect that Sumbul would act the way she is acting. In reality, she is not like this. She is very bubbly and fun-loving. One thing is, during the course of Imlie, she did not have to face a situation where she had to fight or someone was really mean to her. So we did not get to see how she would react in such a situations.  She is with new people in a totally new place and that in itself is a different world with no connection to the outside world. I feel maybe she is a little lost there. Maybe she wasn’t ready to enter the Bigg Boss house, she is quite young too. I feel so bad that she is not speaking up or taking a stand for herself and her self-respect. A few days back, I saw Shalin saying very mean things to Sumbul but she did not say anything to him, I felt really bad about it. She is unable to understand the difference between right and wrong. But I definitely want her to go forward in the game and play well.”

What can we expect from your character Arpita in the upcoming track?

“Honestly speaking, it happens very often in daily soaps that when the girl gets married, there isn’t much screen time for the girl’s family. Same is the case with us as well and I feel that there is not much to do for us in the track. That is why I don’t know what will happen of Arpita in the future.”
