Is there any interesting story behind bagging this show?

I had signed Star Plus' show Yeh Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar as a lead before Dosti Anokhi. But due to some last-minute changes, it didn't work out. After that, the same production house Katha Kottage offered me Dosti Anokhi. They explained to me how different this show is and I really thought the same. It is an experimental show which may or may not work. But I thought I should try to do something different. That's how I bagged the show.

How has your experience been so far working with the show's star cast?

It is a different show. The star cast is amazing. Rajendra Gupta ji is a very senior actor and he is just great when he performs. It feels like I'm watching theatre. Sushmita ji is adorable and amazing. She is also a senior actress. Ishmeet is a new girl but she is very talented. She knows how to do her job in spite of it being her debut show.

What made you say yes to this role?

At first, I was sceptical as it is an experimental show. It is not like other daily soaps. I was in two minds whether I should take up this show or not. My last show was really a hit. My character Agni in Kaatelal & Sons was really hit and people really appreciated me for it. But then it was all about taking risks and taking such characters. I am playing a Benarasi character that I have never played in my career before. I did not know this accent. When I went to Benaras for my outdoor shooting, I sat with people there and learned this language.

Sahil has previously appeared in shows like Uttaran, Kaatelal & Sons, Piya Rangrezz, Haiwaan, among others.
