MUMBAI :Having delighted audiences with some spectacular performances by its talented contestants week after week, Zee TV’s popular singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs season 9 is all set to announce its winner on 22nd January. Having been mentored by judges Shankar Mahadevan, Anu Malik and Neeti Mohan in the course of the show's magnificent run of 3 months, the spirited young singing sensations are all set to storm the stage at the Grand Finale this weekend. As the singing competition draws to an exciting finish, it must be acknowledged that Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs has experienced audience response of an unforeseen magnitude to not just one or two, but a whole bunch of its contestants who have emerged as household names and carved a place for themselves in viewers' hearts this season.
It isn’t every day, after all, that a group of fans runs the Mumbai Marathon in support of a reality show contestant. The little singing sensation from Sikkim- Jetshen Dohna Lama, inspired people from Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Kalimpong to travel all the way to Mumbai and be a part of the Marathon as a rally cry to make her win the show. Titled as the ‘Mini Sunidhi Chauhan’ of the show by judge Shankar Mahadevan, Jetshen has been widely appreciated by the mentors and celebrity guests visiting the show.
Along with Jetshen, it seems that Dnyaneshwari Gadage also caught the attention of the audience. Not only was she invited by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, to his official residence, and by Ex-CM Uddhav Thackeray for a felicitation at his home, but she recently even got the honour of meeting eminent politician Raj Thackeray at his bungalow in Mumbai and seeking his blessings before the Grand Finale. The 12-year-old from Thane (Maharashtra) has been winning everyone's hearts through her classical singing on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs and now, it seems that top politicians and celebrities are also admiring her talent and giving her their blessings. She even impressed the judges throughout the season, so much so that Shankar Mahadevan even gave her the opportunity to perform with him at a live concert. Judge Anu Malik also visited her house in Thane to see the place where she has grown up. He also sang along with her at her place and entertained the localites with his funny anecdotes and shayaris.
While Li’l champs Atharva and Rafa were also acknowledged by the judges and jury members, so much so that they were known as future playback singers on the show, a political rally got converted into a contestant vote appeal arena in support of Rafa at her hometown Malda, West Bengal. Rafa's Episodes, performances, and promos got a thunderous response from the massive crowd out there. Harsh Sikander from Jalandhar was given the title of the second Sukhwinder Singh of our country by popular director Rohit Shetty, and judge Neeti Mohan also paid a visit to his house in Jalandhar. Not only did she meet his family over there, but also pledged to take responsibility of his education and other essentials for years to come.
Atanu Mishra from West Bengal has also been given the tag of ‘Mini Manna Dey’ by the judges, while celebrities have been raving about his performances.
