FromYeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke to Beyhadh, take a note of the top off-air Hindi shows whose fans are longing for their reboot

Let's take a look at those extremely popular off-air Hindi shows that once garnered public's attention to such an extent that people are yearning for their immediate on-air reboot till date...

MUMBAI: Hindi TV serials have always catered as a major stress-buster and source of entertainment for around 75% of the Indian audience. Be it content, lead cast or social motive, certain shows stood out from the list when it came to garnering massive attention from their viewers. With time, lack of content supply or for other competitive purposes, these shows had to be pulled off-air by their respective channels eventually.

However, this could not succumb the passion their ardent viewers bore for the show till date, such that they still root for either the on-air continuation/ reboot/ spin-off of those shows, hoping their wish gets heard someday.

With no further delay, let's take a look at a few of the most popular Hindi TV soaps which had entertained it's massive viewers right from it's first to it's last episode:

1. Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi

The Hindi romantic drama television series which starred Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Jennifer Fernandes in the lead roles, aired on Sony TV from 29th February 2016 to 2nd November 2017. Senior actress Supriya Pilgaonkar was also a major part of the cast.

This series revolved around the realistic romantic relationship between Dev (Shaheer's character) and Sonakshi (Erica's character), as well as it's unique impact on the close bond between Dev and his mother while exploring other family relationships.

A seven-year leap was also introduced in it's plot sometime around it's mid-airing. Fans could not get over Erica-Shaheer's on-screen chemistry as Dev and Sonakshi, which was portrayed afresh even after the seven-year leap. Also, highlighting over issues like inter-cultural bonding and mending other inter-personal relationships within the same family acted as the show's gripping USP.

2. Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke

Originally being a spin-off to television industry's longest-running Hindi soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, YRHPK focussed on the story of YRKKH's current female lead Naira's (played by Shivangi Joshi) younger maternal cousin sisters Mishti and Kuhu. The show's main leads were Rhea Sharma (who portrayed Mishti) and Shaheer Sheikh (as Abeer). The show also featured Rupal Patel as one of it's most important characters.

From showcasing family conspiracies to adopting the concept of 'surrogacy' at the traditional Indian family levels and shattering social stigmas related to the same, this show did quite some interesting coverage.

Last year. the popularity of this show could be traced right at that time when it's makers suddenly decided to pull the show off-air, owing to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The public went furious over this decision such that they had even threatened to stop watching the channel's other shows if this actually happened. News of a citizen committing suicide for the same had also circulated.

The show took another leap in 2019 and focused on Saanvi aka Anjor (played by Tanya Sharma) and Sameer (played by Gaurav Sareen) as the new leads.

It's story revolved around how Dr. Rohit Sippy and Sonakshi Rastogi, who were two completely different individuals belonging to completely different worlds, united together through an unaware series of destined inter-pole collisions.

The story leapt for a few months amid it's mid-airing, focussing on the lead couple's unforeseen temporary separation and later, forever unity.

The show did also pull-up a mammoth cast to portray various characters and was the first Hindi TV soap to showcase the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, way before it actually materialised. Owing to the same reason, the show was pulled off-air right before the virus hit the entire nation.

This show was an Indian soap opera which aired on Sony Entertainment Television last year. It starred Varun Badola (as Amber), Shweta Tiwari (as Guneet) and Anjali Tatrari (as Amber's daughter Niya) in the lead roles.

This story would be forever remembered for showcasing the love-story of Amber and Guneet as an odd an elderly couple, which gets readily accepted by the society with time, thus, shattering related social stereotypes.

Surviving for a very short span of a few months, this show made 2020 somewhat likeable for it's immense viewers.

After the main lead actress Shweta Tiwari tested Covid-positive on the sets of the show, the team decided to wrap up it's shooting entirely by Diwali 2020, leaving it's fans and viewers extremely disheartened.

6. Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai

The last episode was aired on 16 August 2019. Sony TV had earlier announced that the show will return with a second season at an indefinite date, however, the ongoing pandemic has dwindled the chances of it's remake.

7. Patiala Babes

This was an Indian drama television series which starred Paridhi Sharma, Ashnoor Kaur, Aniruddh Dave, Saurabh Raj Jain and Saisha Bajaj in the lead roles.

The series halted on 27th March 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis back then and in April 2020, it's abrupt cancellation was announced, leaving it's fans desperately disheartened.

8. Beyhadh

Focussing on the sizzling yet toxic chemistry amid Jennifer Winget (as Maya Mehra) and Kushal Tandon (as Arjun Sharma), Beyhadh revolved around the obsession which Maya possessed for her hubby Arjun, which eventually led to the drastic falling-apart of their marriage. Actress Aneri Vajani had also featured in this as the third lead named Sanjh. This Indian romantic thriller television series aired from 11th October 2016 to 27th October 2017 on Sony TV.

Two years later, the producers came back with Beyhadh 2, which premiered on the television from 2nd December 2019 and starred Jennifer Winget, Ashish Chaudhary and Shivin Narang. This season abruptly went off-air due to the COVID-19 pandemic's lockdown. Viewers couldn't get enough of the show such that they demand for a fresh new season to compensate for the same.
