Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri quit ESPN-Star

In a major setback for ESPN-Star (ESS), Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri, two of their premier commentators, have reportedly quit the channel. The duo will now be commentators on SET Max during the Indian Premier League which commences from 18th April. Their ouster from ESS comes as a surprise considering the fact that ESS has won a huge contract from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) to telecast international matches involving India and the ICC tournaments like the World Cup.

Their ouster from ESS comes as a surprise considering the fact that ESS has won a huge contract from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) to telecast international matches involving India and the ICC tournaments like the World Cup. Ravi and Gavaskar have been a part of ESS’s cricket commentary team called ‘A few good men’ for many years. A few years ago commentator Geoffrey Boycott too quit ESS. With Ravi and Gavaskar following suit, it can only be fair to say that there ESS is left with very few good men.
