MUMBAI: Actress Munmun Dutta went missing from the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashmah for quite some time. Her absence on the show was noticed after she came under the radar for casteist slur controversy.
Now, as per the latest report, the actress is back on the sets, once again getting to life her onscreen character, Babita. Munmun has kickstarted shooting and the audience will get to see her back on the screen anytime soon.
Her return on the sets left the cast and crew baffled; makers are now back shooting at the Filmcity, Mumbai. The shoot location was shifted to Daman as the Maharashtra government had imposed a lockdown due to the second wave of COVID-19.
The report also suggests Munmun’s comeback on the show happened after producer Asit Modi arrived at an agreement. The producer-actress might have had things sorted on the phone and nothing much about it was revealed to the rest of the team members.
Also, the actress came across as friendly and polite to people on the sets, unlike her earlier instances.
As per the makers, Munmun Dutta's Twitter apology was not enough they wanted her to render her apology in the video format. In order to safeguard the cast and show from any controversy that includes casteism, religious remarks, makers are getting the actor to sign an agreement. Though this left the actors surprised, the show makers were crystal clear about their move.
Implementing it on a quick note, makers got the agreement signed on the sets from the actors.
