Happy that shows are being made from a male perspective too: Worship Khanna

MUMBAI: Actor Worship Khanna, who has been a part of shows like Kumkum Bhagya, Meri Doli Mere Angana, Ishq Subhan Allah, Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka, and Dhruv Tara – Samay Sadi Se Pare, among others, and web series like Hello Jee, Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala, Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor, and Netflix’s Khan Number One, to name some, will soon be seen in the TV show Pati Brahmachari that will air on Dangal. Though he agrees that TV mostly caters to the female audience, he is happy that male-centric shows are being made today.

He said, “Television is usually known for women-oriented shows, mostly based on saas-bahu stories. Rarely do we see male-centered stories. But Pati Brahmachari, the title itself, suggests it’s a male-oriented show. My earlier show, Kuwara Hai Par Hamara Hai, was similar in tone. Now again with Pati Brahmachari, I’m happy that shows are being made from a male perspective too. The title itself says a lot, and I think the audience will really enjoy it.”

The show is being produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions, and Worship shared that working with them feels like home. He said, “My last show, Dhruv Tara, was also with the same production house. That show didn’t run for too long, and it ended quite early, but during that time, I got the chance to show Shashi Sumeet Productions what kind of actor and person I am and how professional I am on set. That period was very important for me, like a test, and I think I proved to them that I am a good choice for my producers.”

He called them wonderful producers to work with and also revealed that he shares a great bond with them. “Shashi Sumeet Productions is the kind of place where you feel at home. When you go on set or you’re working in an unfamiliar city, it gives you that homely, family-like feeling, which is rare. That kind of comfort, I genuinely get from this production house,” he said.

“It took some time after Dhruv Tara, around nine months, to finally get Pati Brahmachari with Dangal. But it’s not like they didn’t try during that time. In every show they made during those months, they considered me. That itself is a big compliment and a win for me, and that’s how I landed Pati Brahmachari,” Worship concluded.
