Hunar Hali, better known as Aditi/Neha of Colors’ Chhal- Sheh Aur Maat (24 Frames), is neither too happy nor too upset with her show coming to an end on 5 October 2012. But the actress does feel that certain amendments and little lesser experiments in the story could have helped it survive.
“They kept on experimenting with the storyline without a pause and this served as a disadvantage to the show and it failed to gain TRPs. We were being kicked like a football from one idea to another,” says Hunar.

She further adds, “I think the start of the show itself did not work in our favour, for a wife can never take revenge from her husband in an Indian household. And that’s exactly what happened between Aditi and Kabir (Avinesh Rekhi). No wonder, the audience could not accept it. Had I been Neha, things would have been lot better.”
Do you think you have proved your mettle in the acting sphere with this show? “I can’t say anything as I must have been pathetic at times. But I am sure I did a decent job on few other occasions. I am still learning as an actor.”
Now that you have done a lead will you get back to doing character roles? “Character roles are definitely not happening as I have something else planned. I will go for lead roles and that will be my priority. But I will take parallel lead roles if they are performance based.”
So does it mean that you have something in your kitty already? “It’s too early to talk about it.”
On a personal level where are you taking your relationship with Abhishek Malik? “I am not dating Abhishek or any other man for that matter. Right now my professional priorities are more important and I want to focus on them.”
She further adds, “I don’t really trust men. The trust element comes in only after a person has earned a special place in my heart. I have complete faith in my brother Raj Singh Arora. And nobody else has managed to do that so far.”
Who are the people you will miss after the show ends? “I will miss Abhishek Malik as I was very close to him. And I am not dating him (laughs). It’s just that the fights I had with him are the ones I will miss a lot.” What about Avinesh Rekhi? “I have a love-hate relationship with him. So it’s like I can and also can’t live without him.”
“Another person whom I will miss a lot is my producer Nandita Mehra. I have not met a producer with a smile like that. In fact, even on the day when she was to tell me that the show is going off-air she had a smile on her face. I did not know how to react at that moment but I would love to work with her again.”
So what kind of character would you love to play now? “I will not take up negative roles anymore. I would be looking out for more positive characters.”
What do you plan to do soon after your show ends? “I will meet my brother Karanveer Singh. He is in 11th standard and he studies in GRD Hostel, Punjab and I haven’t met him in the past five years. So he is my priority.”
All the best, Hunar!!!
