MUMBAI: Actress Monika Singh, who recently produced the music video Raataan Kaali, believes that the festival of lights, Diwali, should be celebrated without creating any noise or air pollution. She stated, “I advocate for a cracker-free Diwali. It’s important to celebrate in a way that’s safe for everyone and the environment. There are so many beautiful ways to enjoy the festival without the noise and pollution.”
For her, Diwali is all about new beginnings. She shared, “It is about light overcoming darkness and spending quality time with loved ones. It’s a time to reflect on the year and embrace positivity. It is the joy of being surrounded by family and friends, sharing laughter, and creating beautiful memories together.”
Discussing her Diwali celebration plans, she said, “I will be decorating my home with diyas and rangoli, having a family get-together, and enjoying a festive dinner together. I’m also excited to visit some friends and share the joy.”
Monika is also looking forward to wearing traditional attire during the festival. She expressed, “I love wearing ethnic outfits during Diwali; it adds to the festive spirit and makes the celebrations feel even more special.”
She enjoys indulging in sweets and gifting her friends and family thoughtful, personalized gifts. She noted, “I love to splurge on sweets like homemade dates, barfi, kaju katli, and milk cake. I also enjoy savory snacks like chakli and namkeen; they’re such a treat.”
“When it comes to gifting, I like to give thoughtful presents like personalized items, sweets, or even beautiful home decor. It’s nice to see the smiles on their faces,” she added.
A favorite Diwali memory? “It was when we all gathered at my grandparents’ house, lit diyas together, and shared stories while enjoying delicious food. The warmth and love during those moments are unforgettable,” Monika concluded.
