I am a complete family man: Jai Kalra

Easy-going, dedicated, a complete family man and a staunch optimist is how the charming Jai Kalra of Bade Achhe fame defines himself. Kalra made his television debut with the much acclaimed show Kis Desh Mein Hain Meraa Dil and garnered lot of appreciation. He won the hearts of many via his diverse characters, be it the villainous Rishab in Kis Desh or the comic Gyaan in Bhaskar Bharti and Ram’s pillar of support Vikram Shergil currently in Bade Achhe. Well, how has his journey been in the industry so far? Jai reveals, “I have had a spectacular journey in the acting space and share a great rapport with all my co-stars right from my very first show”. Commenting on the present scenario amidst leading shows going off air and Bade Achhe’s position on Sony Entertainment Television he shares, “Bade Achhe is a selfless show, and is very special to me because it brings out the best in all its characters. But everything good cannot go on till eternity and has to end someday. And it doesn’t end for Bade Achhehere. And it is entirely the Channel’s and the creative team’s decision which will decide the fate of the show.” A few years back Jai said he avoids watching his shows at home because his daughter Anya is possessive about him being onscreen with another family. He laughs saying, “She is 5 years old now and things have changed. She understands it’s my job and says just like Mickey Mouse entertains her in cartoons so do I work for cartoons that entertain older people.” So does the charming family-man have tips for men out there? Sure he does. “I hold all the women in my life in high regard. Especially my darling grandma, my mom, my wife as well as my two beautiful daughters who are amazing women. And guys everything at the end of the day, be it money or fame boils down to family life. My tip to all men out there for a successful family life is to treat their women right, love and respect them.” That’s some food for thought. Isn’t it? Will we get to see more of the wonderful actor on screen? “I have signed a new show as a lead actor but cannot divulge any details due to the contract restraints.” And as he signs off, he has a message to all his fans. “Thank you guys for your immense love and support through your tweets and fan pages.
