"I am disappointed as no one supported me" - Ismail Darbar

Last year he walked out of the Zee's Sa Re Ga…., when his favourite contest Nihira Joshi was voted out. And this year too he was on the verge of doing the same, but on the inclusion of two new contestants! Apparently, the induction of Anik and Abhijeet (who won the Bangla and Marathi versions Zee's Sa Re Ga...) into the Pratham Yudh hasn't gone down to well with Ismail Drabar. The no-fuss judge was highly displeased about this inclusion which was aired last week.

Ismail, always known to speak his heart, minces no words when he says, "This is complete injustice. This is meant to be a competition and you just can't hand berths to any one. I am not questioning the credentials of these two (Anik and Abhijeet), but if they were to be a part of the show, they should have started from the scratch like other contestants. If they had to induct these men, then why they couldn't bring back one from my gharana." While there is merit to Ismail's theory, his co-judges chose to keep mum over the issue. Expressing his discontent over his fellow judge's non-cooperation, Ismail stated, "I was really disappointed as no one came to my support. Unfortunately, there aren't many takers for truth." We asked Ismail whether other contestants complained to him, to which he replied, "Woh bechare to bachche hai, woh kya bol sakte hai? (What can these kids do about it?)" While Ismail chose to shares his dissatisfaction with us, another judge Vishal refrained from speaking on the controversy. "I don't want to comment on such frivolous issues. Shekar and I are here to promote music and not to increase the TRPs. That is simply not our business" chided Vishal. The others (Bappi Lahiri and Himesh Reshammiya) were unavailable for comment. Moving focus on the performance of other contestants this week, the fracas between the judges seems to have affected the likes of Mussarat, Joy and Nirupama who failed to impress their mentors. However, Poonam's enthralling performance had Reshammiya labeling her 'a small atom bomb'. However, the happiest person on the show had to be Jabalpur's Sumedha who received an offer letter from Mahesh Bhatt (not present) to sing in his next film. But the one who may not be as happy but certainly relieved was Anik who, for the second week in a row, stole everyone's heart with his performance. Perhaps Anik will be hoping that his performance would have certainly won the heart of Ismailji.
