I am looking forward to do a love story next: Shubhangi Atre Poorey

Shubhangi Atre Poorey
The Indore lady, Shubhangi Atre Poorey has time and again proved her mettle with her hunger and potential to do varied roles in the television space. In a conversation with the beautiful actress who is currently seen in Garima Productions’ comedy show Chidiya Ghar, we find out some interesting facts about the actress. While Shubhangi always wanted to pursue acting, her family disapproved of it. So, how did she make her way to fame in this industry? “Well, it was only after marriage that I got an opportunity to act. Here I must say that my husband (Piyush Poorey) had a great role to play in this; he supported me a lot during my struggling days. I first bagged Kasautii Zindagi Kay after I auditioned for Balaji Telefilms and in a month I was offered to play the lead role in Kasturi,” she answers. Having done a love story (Kasturi), family drama (Do Hanson Ka Jodaa) and a negative role (Havan) in the past, Shubhangi is currently doing a comedy show. That is quite a variety of experiments! “Yes. In fact, post my stint in Havan as a negative character I was offered a lot of negative roles but I rejected them as I did not want to get typecasted. So I waited for something big and then Chidiya Ghar came my way. Since, it’s a popular show I jumped at the opportunity,” Shubhangi observes. So what’s next? “Now, I am looking forward to do a love story,” she quips. Making her presence felt in the industry has been difficult but if she has to answer what is the most difficult part of being in the industry, she immediately informs, “Hypocrite people for sure. I have met a lot of them in this industry and I am not comfortable associating with them at all. I would not say that they are bad, may be they have transformed to being that way but I just cannot associate myself with them.” Well said Shubhangi!!!
