I am not being pricey but am very choosy about the shows I take up - Ankita Sharma

Ankita Sharma who was last seen in Life OK's Amrit Manthan as Rajkumari Nimrit, has always been known for her charming positive roles in soaps like Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo (Zee TV) and Baat Hamari Pakki Hai (Sony TV). Surprisingly, the lady doesn’t really enjoy playing them anymore. Ask her about it and she will express a clear sense of displeasure and grievance towards such characters. “Until now I have been essaying positive roles in all my shows. But now I want to expand my profile as an actor and try doing something experimental. Be it comedy or any other genre, I want to see myself doing something different. I am bored of playing positive roles because the character is always seen crying, laughing or is very disciplined,” explains Ankita. When asked to elaborate on the kind of character she sees herself playing, Ankita says, “I would really like to essay grey shaded roles where I get to play a vamp. It would add colour to my character and would also enhance my skills as an actor.” Ask her whether she has a streak of being ‘pricey’ in her now, and she immediately clarifies saying, “I am not acting pricey but yes I am now very choosy about the shows I take up.” Ankita, we hope you get a role where your fans love to hate you (only on screen)!!!
