A page from the personal diary of Vindhya Tewari There are several instances I recall and are fresh in my memory. But the ones I remember with a smile are those from my childhood. I remember during my school days I had fractured my hand twice at the same place. I can’t tell you how much fun it was. I was always the exception at school then. My teachers never scolded me for not completing my homework. This was way back when I was in Class 8 and 9. I was the exception for not writing tests, not doing my homework and I was never even once reprimanded by my teachers for it. My mom took extra care of me back then and I remember telling my mom that I wish mera haath aise hi toota rahe. Those were the days. Then there was a time in my life when my mother got transferred to another place. She had to leave me with my father. Being the only child I was extremely attached to her. That is when I underwent a complete change. I turned into this extremely quiet girl who never interacted with anyone in school. My teachers used to complain to my dad for my behaviour. Noone understood what had gone wrong. Seeing this change in me, my mom was forced to come back to me. Post this I changed completely again. I was this talkative, outgoing girl who shocked everyone yet again. Since then I have retained this bit of my nature. I am outgoing and friendly and my talks never end. I want to thank my parents for all that I am today. We are a middle-class family but I was never mad to realize this. Being the only child my wishes were fulfilled even before I asked them to be fulfilled. It was because of me that they decided not to have a second child and I will always be grateful to them for supporting me throughout my life. I am extremely proud of my parents and what they have done for me.
