I do not copy anyone else; I interpret Shaurya’s character in my own way - Yash Gera

Yash Gera
Delhi model-turned-DJ-turned actor Yash Gera, is quite happy with his new role as Shaurya in Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus. “I am blessed to have been accepted as Shaurya by the unit, and my work is also being appreciated by the audiences,” Yash quips. Since you’ve replaced Ather Habib as Shaurya, how did you approach the character, we ask. “I do not copy anyone else; I interpret the character in my own way. To be honest Shaurya is quite unlike me, while I am more of a lively guy, he is a calm, family-oriented man. He will never behave casually even with his wife in front of his parents.” On Shaurya, Yash avers, “Coming from a traditional Rajasthani family Shaurya is extremely devoted to his principles and norms.” Right now, the actor is feeling proud to be a part of a show which has been rocking the charts since the last four years. However, he admits that he has not followed the daily much. “I had just seen the initial episodes when it had started way back in 2009 as I was busy with my work,” Yash informs. Among his co -stars, Yash is most friendly with Manu Malik who plays his uncle (chacha) Omkarnath. “He is not much older than me and we both hail from the same place in Delhi. I am also quite comfortable with Sanjeev Seth who plays my on-screen father,” Yash adds. Before this show, Yash has done Shahi’s Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. “I began my innings on television with Palampur Express and later went on to do Bairi Piya and Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani etc.” Talking of the overall scenario, Yash adds, “The biggest thing that I have learnt about this industry is that talent and hard work surely pays off. Here I must thank Mumbai for having accepted me with open arms.” Way to go Yash!!!!
