Shraddha Nigam is in a state of shock. Reason --- she is going to appear on VCDs and she has no clue about it!
The petite Shraddha, who shot to telly popularity with Zee's Choodiyan and was last seen on Sahara's Saathiya, shot at least 10 to 12 episodes for a show on Times TV's proposed spiritual channel, Ananda TV, some months ago. But now, with a change in the plans at Bennett, Coleman and Co, the media conglomerate that controls Times TV, Ananda may not even see the light of day!

Which means Shraddha's time and effort (this was the first time the lady agreed to an anchor's job) has gone in vain. But this seems to be least of Shraddha's problems at the moment. The show that was christened Soul Mantra, will now be available in a VCD version, but surprisingly, the lady has no idea about the change in plans.
According to reports on Indiantelevision.com last week, all the programmes which were shot and readied for the spiritual channel, have been passed on to the Times Music division to be converted into VCDs. Sources confirmed that there was a delay in Ananda's launch plans because of the renewed concentration on Zoom and another proposed news channel.
When we called Shraddha to confirm the news, she was so taken aback that she didn't know how to react, "I am shocked. I had no idea. It was a damn good show, and at the moment I am feeling like a complete idiot," said a visibly distraught Shraddha.
Doesn't an actor have the right to know in what version his or her work is coming out in, we asked her --- "You bet! But what can an actor do, we have liitle control over such things, " she sighed.
Understandably so. Her dues are yet to be paid and neither the channel nor the producer has got in touch with her to clear the air. "I am not a chat show person. I agreed to do this because it was different and exciting. I am trying to get in touch with the producer, but somehow, whenever I call, he is not in," says Shraddha, who doesn't fancy herself being shown on VCDs.
