Actor Sameer Dharmadhikari, who has worked in number of films and television shows, is ready to essay the role of King Bindusara in the upcoming show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (Contiloe) on Colors.
We caught up with the actor during the launch of the show and he mentioned how glad he is to be a King for the third time.
In a lighter vein, Sameer said, “Definitely everyone wants to become a King and I am fortunate enough to be one for the third time. Earlier I have essayed the role of Kings in my previous shows Buddha and Mahabharat. I like it this time even more because Ashoka is a male oriented show.”
So, how is your role as Bindusara different from your previous roles as a ruler? “Bindusara was a peace loving, non-violent ruler. Even when he had the chance of killing an enemy, he left him unharmed. Being Chandragupta Maurya’s son everyone expected him to follow his father’s footsteps but his approach towards life was very different from others.”
“Bindusara was a king, who loved life. Being a kind hearted person himself, he needed love and found love for the first time in Dharma, Ashoka’s mother,” added Sameer.
We also quizzed him about the preparations he did for this role and he commented, “The team has prepared me physically for this role. Though I was trained in horse riding for my previous roles, I am getting better with time.”
We wish the actor all the best for his show.
