I feel lucky to be a part of a progressive family: Shaadi Mubarak actress Priyamvada Singh

Actress Priyamvada Singh talks about her new show Shaadi Mubarak, her character and more.

MUMBAI: Actress Priyamvada Singh is known for her stellar performance in the film 'GoneKesh' which has been well received by the audience and has also been out for many film festivals. Later, Priyamvada entered a popular TV drama 'Nazar' which has been known for its fiction and she made her mark with her uniqueness in the show. The actress is all set to entertain the viewers once again by being a part of a TV show 'Shaadi Mubarak' where she is playing one of the pivotal roles in the family.

Tell us something about your character that you are playing in Shaadi Mubarak?
Talking about my new show Shaadi Mubarak, I am playing the character of Sneha Tibrewal, who is the Chachi of KT who is the male lead. The lead character is played by Manav Gohil which is a very positive character who loves her nephew KT more than her kids.

How are you taking precautions on the set and how different is it shooting now?
The current scenario of shooting is different from the past. The new normal is where we are wearing the masks and sanitizing ourselves with maintaining social distancing. The production house Shashi Sumeet is taking all the necessary precautions needed and that’s how we are going with the shoot every day. The credit goes to the team working behind the camera who are putting in a lot of effort so that we all are safe. As said the show must go on!

Any particular character that you would love to play in near future?
I am a die-hard fan of Srideviji and all the characters she has played so far are very close to my heart. If I had to name one character of her it would be Chalbaaz of Anju and Manju, which were two contrast personalities in one frame and this is what I would love to play in future if I get an opportunity.

You are married if you had to share any instance which was challenging or you were nervous in the initial days?
My parents are very loving and have always motivated me to dream big and in the initial days when you move to a new family a bit of adjustment is needed. I would like to mention that my husband has been very understanding and supportive from the start. In fact, he made things very smooth for me and the family accepted me the way I am which every girl would expect and I feel lucky to be a part of such a progressive family.

If you relate your character in real life are you similar to what you are playing or any of your family members who are similar?
I am enjoying playing the character of Sneha as she is quite similar to me in real life. The character that I am playing is quite talkative, full of life and very caring. Sneha is someone who would stand for her family through the thick and thin. In this era of a nuclear family, this family is a joint family and they love and care for each with a huge support system. Being part of this show ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ which revolves around women empowerment is a matter of great pride for me and it is very relatable for everyone since we all go through various emotions in our everyday life. Being a part of such a story also takes me back in my time where I can recollect a few instances that I went through and felt the same way.
