Murari Kumar has been one man who has literally risen from the soil to shape his career.
The talented actor has been seen in various Hindi films in the last 18 years such as Gulaal and Ek Hasina Thi. He has also been a part of Peddler which screened in Cannes 2012. Popularly known as Guddu of Bollywood movie’s Gangs of Wasseypur part 2, Murari is presently a part of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer television show Yudh (Sony TV) and offers his voice for Radio City’s Babbar Sher.
Elaborating on his experience as a part of the industry, Murari shared, “After a lot of political face-offs between ministers in Bihar which led to bloodshed, I shifted my base and settled in Delhi. I joined a theatre group called ACT One where talented actors such as Anurag Kashyap, Makrand Deshpande and KK Menon were a part of. After they started finding success with their Bollywood careers, I too found my aspirations there. It was then that Anurag Kashyap offered me a role in Gulaal. He has a major hand in building my acting career. I am an atheist, but I find my God in Anurag Kashyap and can do anything for him.”
“He not only helped me professionally but also fed me and took care of me like a father,” he added.
Hmm… pretty interesting!
Murari claims that the industry is huge and if one has the patience and time, there is no chance of an actor being unemployed.
Talking about the kind of roles he would like to do, he averred, “I prefer doing negative roles as they are not only challenging, but fits into my look which looks perfect for negative characters. However, in Yudh I am very much unlike how am I in my personal life.”
Murari, we wish you all the luck with your blossoming career!!!
