MUMBAI: Rupali Ganguly is one of the top actresses in Telly Town. She rose to fame with her performance in Sanjivani and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.
After working in the serial Parvarish, she took a break from television to embrace motherhood.
Now, she is back with a bang in the serial Anupamaa as the lead protagonist. The serial went on air recently and has already made a place in the audience’s heart. Viewers are loving her as Anupamaa and can relate to all what she is going through in her life.
We have always seen the actress sharing happy moments on her social media with her cast members such as Alpana Buch, Paras Kalnawat, Sudhanshu Pandey and the others. We remember Rupali as Monisha and she is renowned for the lingo and accent she used in Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai. To see her in a different light which is much more matured is a delight and we cannot have enough of her. Keen to know her journey and whether it was a challenge for her to break out of the image of Monisha, we contacted Rupali and in an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Rupali opened up on the same.
Rupali shared, “For me as an actor, I put in my 100 percent in every role but people accept me and love me as Monisha, as these are two completely diverse roles. It’s been more than a decade apart and the adulation and love which I got as Anupama, I am getting 10 folds more than what I received for Monisha. Ofcourse it feels great. It feels fabulous that I managed to keep the audience engaged through my performance and I am blessed that God has given me this opportunity to keep on reinventing myself and do things differently and that my personality as an actor has been noticed.
It is very easy to get complacent and be in the same rut. I have always tried playing diverse roles and thanks to Anupama, people have finally taken notice. “
Well said Rupali! (Also Read: Rupali Ganguly on Anupamaa: The show has given me things I could have never imagined)
