Mrunal Jain is the male version of Bo Derek on Indian television. This good looking dude has been seen bare chest not once, but eight times already in Uttaran (produced by FilmFarm Productions). Earlier, he had stripped his shirt off in Hitler Didi as well and had once done a la Ranbir Kapoor too (towel et al).

“l am quite confident about showing my torso as I feel that I have one of the best bodies on small screen,” he quips. He also has no problems with the fact that some people might not like his half Monty act. “That goes with territory, some will like it and others will not,” he goes on to add.
Looking ahead, Mrunal who was also part of ill-fated shows like Mahabharat (9X) and Looteri Dulhan, would not even mind wearing boxer briefs like John Abraham (in Dostana) in films which is his ultimate destination. I have no issues if the character demands. Like in the above Karan Johar film, John’s persona was of a cool cad photographer.”
Mrunal also thinks that a time would come when TV industry would be comfortable with showing the lower body as well. “Earlier, we could not show upper body or consummation scenes as well but then they eventually became the norm. Actually showing the lower body is natural as and when you come out of the bedroom, you will mostly be wearing shorts or track pants,” he asks.
It is said that the creatives of Uttaran want him to strip regularly as it leads to the jumping of TRP meters. “When I was first signed for this Colors’ show, they did not know about my physicality. Since the TV industry operates only on close ups, it is an added advantage to be able to show a different facets of yourself to your audience. Here, I am showing my body language even in normal scenes. That makes me quite proud.”
So do women whistle when you go in the streets? “I don’t believe in showing off my body in my normal avatar, but yes, my frame does come out well in T-shirts as well.”
Finally, Mrunal thanks his mom for his current shape. “She gets up at 6 am and keeps feeding me the right kind of vegetarian food which I need. My body which is the envy of many, is an answer to those who think that you need meat to build a body.”
PS – We hope other male TV actors also gain confidence to shed their shirts as easily as Mrunal does in the coming days. Sources say many other hotties like Ravi Dubey, Aamir Ali, Sharad Kelkar and Vivian Dsena aren’t confident about their built and hence refuse to come in a bare chest avatar (wink wink).
