Dedication comes easy for the ambitious TV actress Srishty Rode. After playing different roles in Yeh Ishq Haaye, Shobha Somnath Ki, Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed, Hello Pratibha and now in Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Srishty’s ability to transform herself has left audiences awestruck.
In a freewheeling chat with Tellychakkar.com, the charming damsel spoke about her role, show and more.
She shared, “After playing different kinds of roles onscreen, for the first time, my fans are seeing me do comedy. I always wished to do comedy onscreen. As an actor, it’s very important for us to experiment with roles.”
Did you do any special preparations for this role? “Comedy is a very difficult genre and it’s not easy to make people laugh. For my role as Piya, I had to go through lot of workshop to get hold of the character.”
What kind of characters do you wish to play in the future? “I want to play psychotic and possessed character onscreen.”
What made you choose Chalti ka Naam Gaadi? “I really loved the concept of the show. And the best part is, it’s only for 65 episodes i.e. around three months. Never done a show for three months, so this will be a different experience.”
How satisfied are you with your journey? “I am quite satisfied with my journey. I am lucky that I have got opportunity to work in very good shows with different characters.”
Your take on reality shows? “Reality shows are interesting and would love to participate in dance reality shows. I also like the concept of Bigg Boss and I am an avid watcher of the show.”
How is Romit as a co-star? “Actually, Romit’s wife is a good friend of Manish so Romit and I have a lot of things in common. Romit is a very chilled-out and a family guy,” she said.
