Actor Kanchan Mullick, who is playing a key role in Arindam Sil’s upcoming film ‘Dhananjoy’, which is based on ‘The conviction of Dhananjoy Chatterjee’, says that he was feeling claustrophobic while shooting for the same.
He said at a recent press conference of Dhananjoy, “In this film, I have played the character of a public prosecutor. After working in it, I had wanted to know about the last day of my shooting because I was feeling claustrophobic. In the film, we have just talked about certain facts but think about the man (Dhananjoy) who actually went through all this…”
“A few questions have been raised in the film. I would say that watch the film and think about those questions,” he added.
For the uninitiated, Dhananjoy was hanged for the rape and murder of a school student, Hetal Parekh and the execution stirred up many public controversies.
Kanchan, who is popular for essaying comedy roles in Bengali flicks, is glad to be a part of this project.
The Haripad Bandwala, Love Express, and Rajkahini fame actor said, “I am really thankful to Arindam for choosing me for the role of a public prosecutor because people usually see me in a different type of role (like comedy roles).”
Great going, Kanchan!
Produced by SVF Entertainment and starring Anirban Bhattacharya in Dhananjoy’s role, the film is slated to release on 11th August.
