I went into depression, says Splitsvilla fame Hritu Zee on being slut shamed

Hritu Zee rose to sensation post her stint in the 10th season of dating reality series Splitsvilla. Zee has been one of the most controversial contestants in the season. She was often targeted for being black and for being a game player; she got hatred during and post the season. Her recent post on social media is a validation of the same.

Hritu posted a semi naked picture on Instagram and within a few minutes she started getting hatred from all the corners in the comment section. The kind of racist and slut shamming comments she received were quite disgraceful. Here’s what the comments were like—

TellyChakkar got in touch with Hritu to know her perspective. “After coming back from Splitsvilla, I’ve only got hatred!! I got the comments for no reason; they make no sense. My fans have always helped me a lot mentally and emotionally. I kept doing interviews to make people understand but now I know I should not give a damn. Whatever work I do – whether it is a photo shoot or anything-- people are just bullying and writing hatred comments. Calling me slut is unacceptable because I come from a family, a background and a beautiful past.”

Hritu also revealed the other side of hers which not many are aware of. “I am a social worker in Bhopal, I had an NGO, I was the President & the NGO was all about women empowerment I have been into all the small villages, slums and worked day and night to make the people happy, to build their carriers, to give them work employment!.”

She further added, “I have earned huge amount of respect in life before doing Splitsvilla.  Post that I don’t know I should be happy or sad. Why am I facing so much, when somebody else who goes through casting couch is appreciated? I’ve got selected there on the basis of my own talent, my own qualities and then I am being criticized for doing what I should have done as a personality. All those people who were fake were admired and I was cornered. But the saddest thing is after the show being over and nothing is happening around it, I’m doing my job – modeling, photo shoots, and singing shows. And for doing all these work I will be called slut? I really wonder how India will grow if a woman has to face so much just because of a bloody show (Splitsvilla) and for being honest. I have been into depression for so long because of the show.”

“People who love me have supported me like anything but trollers just don’t understand. I don’t know why? It’s really sad!” she concluded.

It is indeed sad to read these kinds of hate comments no matter who the girl is. What do you have to say about the whole fiasco?  Do you think Hritu Zee deserves such kind of hatred? Post your thoughts in the comment section below.
