I will never take part in Bigg Boss: Mandira Bedi

Mandira Bedi
Mandira Bedi, who has been a major part of non- fiction shows and hosted biggies like Indian Idol, Extraa Innings, Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star, Fame Gurukul and will now host Indian Idol Junior, says that she is not in favour of voyeuristic shows like Emotional Atychaaar (Bindass) that pushes the television envelope in a not so good manner. “Agreed these shows get ratings, but I don’t like them,” she quips. “I personally prefer voting-based talent shows like Indian Idol Junior (she is anchoring along with Karan Wahi) that gives newcomers an opportunity. Here, I can say with an assurance that the formats which I have been associated with it are not rigged. We always have third party auditors who vet the voting processes. Many a times when I am hosting, I am only informed about the winner when I am on stage. In return, I tell them “why don’t you tell me before hand. Who am I going to reveal or bet my money on,” she exclaims. Here Mandy adds that one reality show she will never do is Bigg Boss. “I am called for it every year. The reason is clear; the format is such that you are like specimens in a fish bowl along with ten others and are constantly poked. You are deliberately put in a situation with someone you don’t like and the tasks don’t make things any better,” she observes. Going ahead Mandira, who has also judged a couple of reality shows like Funjabi Chak De and Laughter Knights (Star One) says, “Another thing what I don’t like about this above hit show, now on Colors, is that since you are trapped in that pad for three months with the same faces that sometimes you end up losing your cool in a much worse manner, then you would have done outside. Some of the drama in Bigg Boss is created, while the others are real,” she informs. And before she could sign off, Mandira avers, “Hats off to the people who have survived in the Bigg Boss house; it’s not my cup of tea. Those who do are great e.g. Vindu Dara Singh.”
