I would never rely on my dancing skills to get a film - Vivian Dsena

Vivian Dsena

Vivian Dsena is a known name on the small screen, but the actor took on a big challenge when he decided to be part of a dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

After surviving for eight weeks he recently got eliminated, but says that he has “no regrets”. “I feel like Michael Jackson now, as I learnt so much while I was on the show. Earlier, I couldn’t even dance to save my life,” says Vivian.

While the actor had no interest in dance before joining the show, he says his wife, Vahbbiz (Dorabjee), convinced him to participate. However, contrary to popular belief, the TV star maintains that he did not plan to use the show as a stepping stone to Bollywood. “I would never rely on my dancing skills to get a film. I would rather audition for roles. I have to be a good actor first, as one can’t be dancing in every frame,” he adds.

As far as the comparisons with Salman Khan are concerned (Vivian played the role of a film star in his TV show, Madhubala, and was often compared to Salman), the actor says that the Bollywood star is his inspiration. “Salman Khan is my inspiration but there is no similarity between us. It would be an insult to him to compare the two of us. We have a similar frame, but we don’t have the same kind of physique. He has a better one. He works hard and my daily soap schedule doesn’t leave me with much time. I met him on the dance reality show, where he told me that I was doing very well. That was my award.”

Great going Vivian!
