I would like to play a role where people love to hate me and hate to love me! : Rakhee Tandon

The character of Dayaben is iconic and it would be challenging for an actor to play the part, says Rakhee

MUMBAI: Rakhee Vijan Tandon has come a long way in her career.

She has been a part of an iconic superhit show Hum Paanch where she played the role of Sweety Mathur among a host of other television shows. While she has done plenty of Bollywood movies such as Krrish 2, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, Golmaal Returns among others, Rakhee has also been seen in a host of television shows such as Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi, Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Meri Durga, Sajan Re Phir Jhoot Mat Bolo and Tera Kya Hoga Alia? in the recent past.

We asked Rakhee that since she has been a part of Hum Paanch we asked her about the kind of roles she wants to enact and also about the statement reported about how she would like to play the role of Dayaben if given a chance.

Rakhee shared, “My statement is misinterpreted. I meant that the character of Dayaben is iconic and it would be challenging for an actor to play the part. For myself, I would want to play a character like Sweety which I can originally create and make it as iconic as Sweety Mathur. I would love to move on from Sweety into something which is originally created and mastered by me.”

When asked about the kind of genres she would like to explore, Rakhee shared, “I would like to play a negative role like Jaikant Shikre in Singham played by Prakash Raj. The character was villainous and yet witty, funny and humourous which had a lot of nuances. I would like to play a role where people love to hate me and hate to love me!”

Well said Rakhee! (Also Read: MTV Splitsvilla 8 celebrity contestant Viren Singh Rathore to enter SAB TV' Aladdin: Naam Toh Suna Hoga)
