MUMBAI : Imlie is one of the most loved and successful shows on television, being among the top 4 shows when it comes to the BARC ratings. The story has taken a significant turn with Aryan and Imlie’s death and Imlie season 2 starting.

We saw a huge leap in the show after which Imlie and Cheeni are all grown up.

According to the latest plot, Atharva feels bad about lying to Imlie as she has started to develop feelings for him. Cheeni is determined to marry Atharva and blackmails him and says that she will not be able to live if she does not get to marry him.

As Imlie is getting ready, Cheeni comes in and offers to do her makeup. Cheeni sneakily mixes some powder in Imlie’s makeup which will make her dizzy. As soon as Cheeni applies makeup, she leaves. Imlie starts to feel dizzy and falls unconscious.

Cheeni comes in and changes her outfit to what Imlie is wearing. She had gotten the same outfit and is now looking just like Imlie.  

Cheeni and Atharva meet secretly and feel happy as their plan has succeeded. Cheeni covers her face while Imlie, on the other hand, is trying to sneak in so that nobody finds out that she was locked and had to jump out the window.

She has also covered her face. She crosses Atharva and Cheeni but they do not notice her.

The netizens feel that the plot is going down the path of the narrative of Colors TV’s Uttaran.

In that show, somewhat similar events took place. Tapasya rejects Veer’s Proposal and later Iccha is set to marry Veer but then Tapasya feels that Veer is rich so changes her mind. She then asks Iccha to let her marry him and she loves Tapasya a lot so agrees to do so.

Similarly, Cheeni is also after Atharva for his money and status. The only difference is that Atharva is aware of her plan of replacing Imlie while Veer was not.

Pranali Mehta: I feel the plot is going on the same path of that of Uttaran’s. The narrative is not at all creative or new. I feel the makers need to do a better job with the plot. It feels repetitive and there are so many plots that can be explored in this day and age.

Rupali Suresh: I have been following Imlie ever since the beginning. I am not liking it much post-leap. The plot line feels old and almost the same set of events took place in Uttara. Why can’t the makers think of something fresh?

Harshali Malhotra: With society moving forward so rapidly, there are so many issues that can be given a stand. But the makers choose not to be creative. They are repeating the plot line and I feel they can do a much better job. We as viewers, deserve better content on television.

Pragati Rathore: I am quite disappointed with the way the plot is unfolding. A girl wants to marry a guy for money and another girl for love. This feels so old and lame. There is so much one can do with the storyline but the same old narratives are being portrayed.
