MUMBAI: Lucknow Super Giants’ promising young pacer Mayank Yadav is on the verge of making a return to action in the ongoing IPL 2025 season after recovering from a series of injuries. The 22-year-old speedster, who had been sidelined for the past six months due to a lumbar stress injury followed by a toe issue during rehabilitation, has now been cleared by the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence and has rejoined the LSG squad.

Yadav’s fiery performances last season, where he claimed seven wickets in just four matches, made him a standout talent. His blistering pace and sharp accuracy drew widespread praise and even earned him a spot in the Indian squad. However, his progress was halted by recurring injuries.
Though he has returned to the team, Mayank is still undergoing final fitness evaluations by LSG’s medical staff. While an official date for his return remains unconfirmed, he could feature in the upcoming clash against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday if he clears all assessments.
LSG have faced a string of injury setbacks this season, particularly in their pace department. With Avesh Khan and Akash Deep now back and Mayank nearing full fitness, LSG hope to regain full strength and maintain their strong start to the tournament.
