MUMBAI: Poonam Sirnaik, who is seen as Parmeshwari Chotwani, aka Nani, in Jamai No. 1, which is produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah under their banner Studio LSD, is happy to see how the show is progressing and feels that it makes it more watchable.
She said, “Our show is taking so many beautiful twists and turns, with lots of drama happening. It’s interesting to watch, and people are loving it. I also feel that a character should go through ups and downs as it brings a relatable factor. A straight-line story would be boring for the audience.”
She also teased that the audience can expect a lot of interesting developments with her character and added, “Everyone is portraying their parts so beautifully, which adds depth to the story.”
Poonam mentioned that with daily soaps shooting back-to-back, personal time takes a back seat, but she has adjusted to it now. She said, “I’ve been working since a very young age, so I’ve adapted to it. My family is very understanding, and that makes it easier to balance both personal and professional life.”
However, she stressed that lack of personal time can sometimes affect an actor’s professional life as well. “If you don’t maintain a balance between personal and professional life, it can create problems. It’s important to strike that balance, or it will show in both aspects,” she said.
She further shared that an actor continues to learn throughout their career and is hoping to enhance her craft this year. “Every day on my show, I get to learn new things from everyone around me. It’s a continuous process of growth and evolution as an actor,” Poonam concluded.
