It's time to take risks and bring out interesting shows on Indian television - Adita Wahi

Flashlights will cloth Adita Wahi, the actress enacting the role of Sonali in Life OK’s Laut Aao Trisha (24 Frames), with the upcoming track focusing on her. “I am so very excited about the way the show is shaping up. People across the world have liked our show and there is a lot of buzz about it all around. Recently one of my friends was in Singapore and people in the next table were talking about the serial. When she told me about the good things they were talking about I was immensely happy,” shared the lovely girl, who has been part of shows like Doli Saja Ke, Mata Ki Chowki and Haunted Nights. Internationally, the show has been doing well, but what about viewers in India. Are they ready for shows like Laut Aao Trisha with different storylines? “Of course they are for a long time. To be honest, people here have been fed with the same kind of stuff and thus they are habituated with the saas bahu sagas. But of course people are trying to bring in new shows and I feel its high time people take risks and bring out interesting concepts.” Adita, who has international acting certificates to her credit, never really seemed too visible on screen. Sharing information on the same, she says, “I have never been too pushy about my career as I felt every show made was almost similar. Laut Aao Trisha literally landed on my lap. I was away holidaying when they gave me a call and asked me to audition for the role and everything just fell in the right place after that.” “This is the kind of work I enjoy doing. No actor can go on playing a similar character all their life. I am hooked to the English TV series and look at the way they present their stories; short and simple yet so powerful. And now that I am back I am hopeful that I will bag some good roles soon,” she adds. And finally talking about her team, Adita quips, “The show is not only about great actors but also great people. All of us are on the same page and thus have a great understanding and bonding. Also since we shot the initial episodes in Goa, we got to really hang out and understand each other in a much better way. Since it is also the first time that I am working with a lady director (Nandita Mehra), it’s all the more fun.” Wish you luck ahead Adita!
