Jayshree Soni to continue playing Niyati post the leap

The media had a hard time chasing a replacement over the last few days (read Mohnish Behl’s replacement in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge). But here’s another replacement story that has died. A few days back, there were reports that Jayshree Soni who is playing the lead in Sahara One’s Niyati, will be replaced post the leap. However, according to the latest news that Tellychakkar.com has gathered Jayshree will be associated with the show even after the leap happens. Prior to this, Alan Kapoor who played the male lead in the show was replaced by Sachin Shroff. As per our reliable source, the production house was not sure if Jayshree could play the role of an older woman convincingly, post the leap; hence, they were planning to replace her. In fact, they had chalked out a track wherein Niyati (Jayshree’s on-screen character) would be travelling to a hill station and will meet with an accident on the way. In the wake on this accident, they would have brought in a new face. Not only this, the production house had even zeroed in on Anjali Abrol of Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat fame and Sonali Nikam of Jaankhilavan Jasoos fame as Jayshree’s replacement. To add to this, Sonali even confirmed the same when Tellychakkar.com contacted her, “Yes, I was called for the look test.” Anjali, however, remained unavailable for comment. But recent turn of events has forced the people at the production house to change their mind. Incidentally, Jayshree’s father recently got a heart attack and he is admitted in a hospital in Jaipur. Jayshree too is in Jaipur with her father; hence, the production house felt it wasn’t the right time to replace her. As our source tells, “It would be very inhuman on our part to replace Jayshree at this time. Hence, she will be part of the show even post the leap. However, as of now we are planning to give her a mature look. So that she looks convincing even post the leap.” Tellychakkar.com spoke to Jayshree who said, “I am currently in Jaipur with my father and I have no idea about what’s going on there (Mumbai). However, I am not very keen on playing a mother onscreen, so let me get back to Mumbai to have a clearer picture.” We hope that Jayshree’s father has a healthy recovery.
