MUMBAI: Star Plus’ popular drama Jhanak has continued to captivate audiences since its premiere last year, consistently securing a spot among the top five shows on Indian television. With Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja leading the cast, the show enjoys a loyal fan base and remains a strong performer on the TRP charts.
In recent weeks, the series sparked a flurry of speculation following reports of an impending major leap that would introduce a fresh cast.
The rumours sent fans into a frenzy, concerned about the possible exit of their favourite characters, particularly Hiba Nawab’s titular role.

However, in a surprising development, the planned leap has now been postponed, reportedly due to scheduling adjustments around the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
This delay has come as a welcome relief for fans, who are thrilled to have more time with the current cast. Despite the buzz, no official statement had been released, leaving room for speculation to grow.
Amidst the uncertainty, rumours began to circulate that Pandya Store actress Shiny Doshi was set to replace Hiba Nawab in the post-leap storyline. Putting the hearsay to rest, Shiny Doshi has now addressed the speculation directly.
In a clear and candid statement, she said, “No, the news is completely false. I’m not replacing Hiba Nawab. At the moment, I’m exploring new projects and scripts, and I wouldn’t step into a show midway like that.”
With her response, Shiny has firmly quashed the rumours, bringing clarity to fans who were left wondering about the potential casting shake-up.
As it stands, Jhanak will continue with its beloved lead cast for the foreseeable future, much to the delight of its viewers. And with the leap temporarily on hold, fans can expect more drama and emotion from the current storyline in the episodes to come.
