MUMBAI: Honey Trap Squad actress Sherleen Dutt, says she wasn’t always sure about her career path, but with time she realised her inclination towards acting. She said, “Growing up, I had various interests and ambitions. For instance, I once aspired to become an IAS officer. However, as I matured, my passions evolved, leading me to pursue acting. This journey was full of exploration and self-discovery.” She got the motivation from a combination of introspection and external influences. She said, “Watching films by directors like Anurag Kashyap and actors like Vijay Sethupathi inspired me deeply. Their work resonated with me, and I felt a calling towards the craft of acting. Spirituality and manifestation practices also played a crucial role in guiding my decisions.” Sherleen confessed that she has often faced challenges of overthinking and self-doubt.
She added, “To manage them, I practice mindfulness and meditation, which help me stay grounded and focused. I also prioritize my tasks and take one step at a time, rather than overwhelming myself with multitasking. Accepting that it's okay to have doubts and trusting the process have been crucial in handling these moments.” Whenever there are moments of indecision, she relies on her intuition and seeks advice from her family and friends. “I listen to my gut feelings, which often provide clarity. Additionally, I consult with my family and close friends for their perspectives. My spiritual beliefs and practices also offer guidance, helping me make informed and balanced decisions,” she said. And she is ready to take risks, but only to a certain extent. Sherleen said, “I'm willing to take calculated risks. The fear of failure is natural, but I don't let it paralyze me. Instead, I view risks as opportunities for growth and learning. My mantra, 'Alag hun, galat nahi,' reminds me that being different isn't wrong, and it encourages me to embrace my unique path.”
