MUMBAI: Shashi-Sumeet Productions’ upcoming show Karna Sangini has been creating quite a buzz. The magnum opus is said to be a contemporary adaption of Mahabharat.
While Aashim Gulati and Tejasswi Prakash are playing the lead characters, many other actors have been roped in to play the ensemble cast.
TellyChakkar has exclusive information that another popular actor has been selected for an important role. Karan Sharma, who shared screen space with Poonam Dhillon and Krystle D’Souza in Ekk Nayi Pehchaan, will be making his debut in the mythological space.
After a brief hiatus, Karan, who was last seen in Zee TV’s Kaala Teeka, is returning to TV with this Star Plus show. A little birdie informs us that he will essay the character of Krishna in the story.
His naive screen appearance, charming smile, and docile yet manly demeanour surely make him a perfect fit for the mythological character. One can totally imagine Karan, 34, pulling off the character with much panache.
When we called Karan, he kept the conversation crisp and only reverted with a 'No comment'.
The former model hasn’t signed the deal yet. However, the shooting for the daily starts by next week.
In addition, Kinshuk Vaidya, Paras Chhabra, and Rehaan Roy are playing Arjun, Duryodhan, and Dushasan, respectively.
Karna Sangini will take the audience through the journey of Karna and his wife Urvi for the firat time on TV. It’s a romantic saga of their unexplored relationship.
The show is expected to go on air by mid-September.
