MUMBAI : With contestant Nareshi Meena, the most recent Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 episode got off to a great start. Amitabh Bachchan made the decision to pay for her proton therapy costs in order to treat her brain tumor. He praised her for her fortitude and tenacity in seeking recovery.
The Kalki 2898 AD actor said, “Badi himmat honi chahiye ek mahila mein. Ek toh sarvajanik roop se yeh baat kehna, iske liye bohot himmat ki zarurat hoti hai.”
He added, “Aur khaas toh jis tarah ki avastha hai uske baare mein baat karna hi mushkil hota hai. Kahin na kahin aapne apne mann ke andar yeh rakh rakha hai, yeh thaan ki main aaj KBC mein aayi hoon aur main dhanrashi jeet kar jaungi aur iska ilaaj ho sakta hai. Aapke dhairya ke liye hum aapko dhanyawaad karte hai. Lekin iss or jo aapka dhyaan hai, ab woh apne dimag se hata lijiye aur jo aapka chhipa hua tumour hai, woh bhi nikal jayega.”
She went on to describe how the tumor was identified in her body. Nareshi had aspirations of becoming an investigator. She underwent medical examinations and was advised to get an MRI as part of her training evaluation process. That's when the diagnosis was revealed to her.
When Amitabh Bachchan questioned Nareshi about the specifics of her work, she revealed that she looked after women who were being abused at home or were kicked out. Nareshi outlined the programs that the government of Rajasthan has set aside specifically for women. The programs provide women with schooling, housing, and cheap loans to launch their own enterprises.
Inspired by Nareshi’s works, Big B then said, “My granddaughter ( Navya Naveli) does this individually from her own earnings. She isn't working for the Government but has been taking up these initiatives on her own. Recently, she set up an NGO with her own funds, the organization makes homes for women and gives all the facilities and everything that the women need.”
