MUMBAI: MPSC candidate Krishna Selukar was on the hot seat in front of Amitabh Bachchan on the popular quiz program Kaun Banega Crorepati season 16. AB schooled the contestant's misconception that unmarried women are a burden on society on the August 28 episode.

In a conversation with contestant Krishna Selukar, Big B questioned him about whether obtaining a position in the government was his life's ambition. The 29-year-old revealed that even though he has an engineering degree, COVID-19 caused him to lose his job, leaving him unemployed. He continued by saying, "Agar mei kahu bina shadi ki ladki gharwalo par bojh hoti hai na sir, ek umar hone ke baad berozgar ladke utna hi bojh hote hai."

(If I say that an unmarried lady is a burden to her family, then after an age, an unemployed man is also a burden.)

The statement passed by Krishna did not gel well with Bachchan sahab. He replied in his baritone voice, "Ek baat batye aapko. Ladki joh hai bojh kabhi nai ban sakti. Bahut badi shaan hoti hai mahila. (Can I tell you one thing? A woman can never be a burden on the family. She is always an honor.)

As of Krishna, he is a native of the Jalna district's Ashti village. Having competed in the Fastest Finger First (FFF) round, he was ranked among the top 10. He participated in the Jaldi 5 Buzzer Round after winning the same, and Selukar was able to reserve his spot on the third try.

Krishna entered the quiz show season and completely changed his life. The 29-year-old MPSC student's single goal in life was to prove to his father that he was capable of achieving great heights and to make him proud.

He succeeded in doing the same, earning Rs 12.5 Lakh and quitting before Amit Ji could ask him a question worth Rs 25 Lakh. The show was emotional because Big B used a video call to force the contestant to speak with his sister and mother. He disclosed that he only communicated with his mother on Sundays since he found it really difficult to be apart from her.
