In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, Kaveri shared her thoughts on reality shows following the Bigg Boss format to boost TRP ratings and whether leaps in television serials contribute to their success.
Do you think reality shows are following the footsteps of Bigg Boss to achieve high TRP ratings?
“I don’t watch many of these shows, so I can’t comment much. However, I did follow Bigg Boss Season 18 because Karanveer Mehra was a contestant. Other than that, I don’t usually watch Bigg Boss. That said, Celebrity MasterChef is an absolute delight! I watched a few episodes with my friends, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. If a concept works and resonates with the audience, it naturally reflects in the TRP ratings.”
Do you think introducing a leap in a show helps in its success?
“Yes, at times, storylines tend to get stretched, and that’s when producers have to introduce a leap. It must be well-planned to be effective. In the case of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, which I was a part of, I felt the leap was not executed maturely. However, at the end of the day, it’s the producers’ and channel’s call, and no one as the right to comment on it. Personally, I prefer fresh, innovative storylines. Television often recycles the same narratives, merely repackaging them differently.”
