MUMBAI: The actress Khyati Keswani plays Amrita in Chaahenge Tumhe Itnaa, has discussed how the villainous characters have evolved and provided insight into how antagonistic portrayals have grown more complex and multifaceted.
Regarding how competitors portrayed the antagonists, Khyaati stated, "A hero is never truly a hero until there is a villain in his life. I have played negative characters in the past, but while shooting for the show Chaahenge Tumhe Itnaa I have realised how times have changed."
"Villainous roles used to be very negative, where the character would purposely trouble the hero or the heroine. However, now they have become more nuanced, with grey shades. For example, in my ongoing show, whatever my character Amrita does is out of love for her son Kunal. So, there is no intention of troubling someone just for the sake of it," she said.
She further added, "The mindset of viewers has evolved. They understand the psyche of the characters. In the past, people used to dislike actors who played negative roles, even in real life. However, nowadays, viewers can distinguish between reel life and real life. They appreciate and love us for the performances we deliver on-screen."
In the next episode, Urmila plots to separate Siddharth and Aashi by teaming up with Kunal, Geet, and Amrita. In an attempt to put Siddharth against Aashi, Geet causes a misunderstanding that results in Siddharth accidentally pushing Amit. Aashi thinks Siddharth intentionally hurt Amit because she misunderstands him.
Siddharth vows not to let Aashi get married to Kunal. Aashi is shocked when her family tells her to run away with Siddharth at the wedding. She confronts Siddharth and tells him that if he really loves her, he must go. Amit hears of Kunal's plan in the interim and gets hurt while attempting to stop him.
