MUMBAI: Shilpa Saklani made a lasting impression on Indian viewers after appearing as "Ganga" in the television series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi. Even though the show made her a celebrity overnight, she also met Apurva Agnihotri who was her first crush after seeing Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayege, and fell in love.
Shilpa fell in love with Apurva rather than Shah Rukh Khan. When Shilpa was twenty-one, she married Apurva. Their lives seemed empty, though, since they had been trying for eighteen years to conceive a child. One day, God blessed them a daughter, showing that miracles happen.
Recently, Shilpa Saklani was invited to Rubina Dilaik's talk show, Kisi Ne Bataya Nahi, wherein she revealed that from a young age, she wanted to get married. She had even told her parents that at the age of 21, she would get married, and was sure that after four years she would have a child, that too, a daughter, and every day she prayed for a daughter. Shilpa called it karma that the joy came to her after eighteen years.
While describing her motherhood journey, she said, "There was a very short period, which was a very dark period, ki hum itna try kar chuke the but nothing was happening."
However, since Shilpa saw everything in life as a blessing and she believes in God, she was certain that one day she will be blessed with a child. She continued by saying that she would come across her husband's Xerox copy. Every time Shilpa sees her kid and she feels overwhelmed.
Shilpa and Apurva provided a glimpse of their lives on their YouTube channel on September 1, 2023. Apurva disclosed in the video that Shilpa suffered from conjunctivitis and that he would be sleeping in a separate room with their daughter Ishaani. Shilpa tried placing on a brave face, but as Ishaani attempted to crawl to her later in the video, she lost her cool.
Ishaani ran to her mother to give Shilpa a hug, but the actress was unable to touch her because of the infection. Shilpa was spotted sobbing.
