MUMBAI: In a moment that has sent ripples of excitement across the country, television’s creative powerhouse Ektaa Kapoor has officially confirmed the revival of one of Indian television’s most iconic shows Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

The announcement has stirred a wave of nostalgia among fans, as the legendary serial prepares to return to screens, promising a blend of intense drama, timeless values, and emotional storytelling that once defined an era of prime-time television.

At the heart of the original series were the beloved characters of Tulsi and Mihir, portrayed by Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay. Their heartfelt performances and powerful on-screen chemistry turned them into household names and cultural symbols of Indian television.

Now, after more than a decade, the cherished saga is making a comeback with a brand-new season — and reports suggest much of the original cast is returning as well. Fans are eagerly awaiting the reimagined tale, which is expected to retain the essence of the original while introducing contemporary twists.

In a recent interview, Smriti Irani made a striking revelation about the show’s past. She shared that Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was initially set for a revival back in 2014.

However, she declined the offer at the time, as she was about to take her oath as a Member of Parliament and chose to focus entirely on her political responsibilities.

Interestingly, Irani also turned down a film project featuring the late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor around the same time. Recalling the incident, she shared a touching moment with the actor. “Rishi Kapoor told me, ‘You made the right decision. Serving the nation should always come first,’” she recounted.

Now, exactly eleven years later, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is officially returning, and the anticipation is at an all-time high.

With the release of a nostalgic new promo, fans across generations are counting down the days to once again welcome the iconic show into their living rooms.

This revival not only marks a return to familiar faces and stories but also pays tribute to the enduring impact of a serial that forever changed the landscape of Indian television.
