Living the tradition on and off the screen: Maera Misshra on celebrating Karwa Chauth

Maera Misshra

MUMBAI: The auspicious festival of Karwa Chauth is around the corner and Bhagya Lakshmi’s Malishka a.k.a Maera Misshra is all set to celebrate this festival in reel and real life. While she is shooting for a special Karwa Chauth track in the show, where her character performs the traditional fast for her on-screen husband Rishi (Rohit Suchanti), Maera is excited to keep Karwa Chauth fast for her fiancé. Bride-to-be Maera embraces the festive spirit and talks about the coincidence in her life.

Maera said, ‘I am very excited for this Karwa Chauth with Rajul, my fiancé because it's such a special experience to be living this tradition both on and off-screen. Being the filmy dramatic girl that I am, I have always visualised myself in a red saree, wearing the red chuda, and sindoor. However, this year, I will be just keeping the fast for him and fulfilling my Bollywood dream next year, after marriage. Since childhood, I have watched my mother perform all the rituals, from receiving the Sargi to attending the evening puja with my father. Now, as we are shooting a similar sequence in Bhagya Lakshmi, I'll be performing the same rituals on-screen, which makes me even more excited for this experience”

As Maera prepares for this momentous day on and off screen, it will be interesting for the viewers to watch the upcoming drama she brings into Rishi and Lakshmi’s(Aishwarya Khare) life during the Karwa Chauth celebrations.
