This lockdown has brought the Raja and Runk on the same level. Celebs share their views

MUMBAI: Gone are the days when people wanted materialistic things in their life for their comfort and fun. Believe it or not, but the new luxury is - roti kapada aur makaan. The nationwide lockdown made everyone fight for these basic needs, be it the rich or the poor, everyone was trying to get these for their survival. The lockdown has brought the so called Rajas and the Runks on the same level. Do you agree?

Well, here are some celebs sharing their views on the same:

Vijayendra Kumeria: I have always believed in the concept of 'simple living, high thinking'. Yes, it's true that these days people are living a simple life with fewer options. But we humans can’t stick to this basic form of living, so once everything is better, we will start the rat race again. But we need to remember that we shouldn’t be overconfident about future and planning.

Shashank Vyas: The story which says raja and runk are equal, it's not true. Not everyone is baking cakes at their home. It’s a very hard time for few, whereas some are enjoying fantastic lifestyle. People who are daily wagers or middle class who are dependent on monthly income they can’t cook or pay money for baking cakes. The thing is it is not equal to everyone it is different to everyone. We are in the same house but in one room people have all the facilities and in another room there is no facility and luxury, so how it is same the condition. We can’t say that everyone is equal, there is a huge difference between rich and poor and eventually it will grow.

Jasmin Bhasin: I totally agree, during this time even I felt that roti kapda and makan are the basic needs. Now I have learnt that we live in such a superficial world and we have materialistic things to keep ourselves happy but the bottom line our family and these basic amenities are the only thing we need. Also, during this time I realised that we are so used to of not doing our own work, we are dependent and spoilt, so now, I have started valuing my help and staff more.

Sudipto Balav: In my view the worlds of the Raja and Runk, in our country, are completely different because the disparity between these two segments are huge. While the privileged is deprived of the luxuries of life like shopping, dining, outing, going to the gym, the underprivileged segment is not able to fend for the basic necessities like food for the family, rent, medical needs etc. so these two worlds are completely different altogether. As far as I am concerned, I am blessed with the basic needs and have been fortunate enough that I got a chance to utilize this time to introspect, focus on my craft, health and on my personal relationships.

Arun Mandola: In difficult times like this, we all are equal, all of us are fighting the same coronavirus, and when it comes to God he doesn't see who is raja or rank. This is a big lesson for those people who think he/she can do anything. We all know  “jab insaan iss duniya se jata hai to khaali hath jata hai” but still we don’t care. It took a virus to teach us to be human, help people, love humanity and respect mother nature.

Harssh A Singh: Even though lockdown has hit us hard, I still believe that we are so much more fortunate than 80% of the Indian population whose situation is just worse. Having said that I read about two television actors who committed suicide because of lack of work. I just want to say everyone is helpless and scared and worried, but we need to remember a few things 'You are Not alone', everyone is going through their own troubles, so reach out to anyone, talk to a friend or anyone before taking that drastic decision. No one has just particular talent or one source of income. So, take your time to explore other fields. I know of businessmen who have started teaching cooking online, and people are loving it. Raja and rank are equal, which means we are all in it together, don't give up, reach out or be someone who other people can reach out to.

Aaira Dwivedi: Today I am grateful to every single person who made my life easier, it is because of them we are able to go out and pursue our career, so when things get normal, don't forget to let them know that you value them. For me food, water, a roof over my head and good health of my near and dear ones holds top importance, everything else is a bonus that I bow my head in gratitude for. But, after looking at the hardship of those who struggle for even basic necessities, I don't think that basic is basic for everyone. In this tough time we have to stand by each other and protect our own. I want to help as many as possible in the best of my abilities. This time has also made us all realize what's truly important. If this time is respected for what it is, it will enable more light to shine through. Humanity will rise and we will win this war. May everyone be safe and secure.

Moin Sabri: People who have money they are utilizing it now. The poor people are struggling for basics whereas the rich people have their own struggles. As per Maslow's theory of needs 'Jiske pass jitna hai utna hath faila raha hai'. It's that simple.
